Maaliskuussa julkaistavaa Sentenced-kitaristi Miika Tenkulan elämäkertaa juhlistetaan myös Muhoksella! (In English below)
Nefertiti Malatyn teos esittelee Sentenced-kitaristin koskettavan elämäntarinan. Sentenced-yhtye nousi Muhokselta maailmanmaineeseen vuosituhannen vaihteessa, mutta hajosi suosionsa huipulla vuonna 2005. Soolokitaristi ja säveltäjä Miika Tenkulan elämään jäi tyhjiö, jota oli vaikea täyttää. Hänen viimeisiä vuosiaan synkensivät päihdeongelma ja kamppailu perinnöllisen sydänsairauden kanssa. Hän kuoli sydänkohtaukseen vain neljä vuotta myöhemmin. Miika Tenkulan elämäkerta kertoo, kuinka ujosta maalaispojasta tuli menestynyt kitarataiteilija. Vuosikymmenten jälkeenkin Sentenced nauttii fanien intohimoista arvostusta ja Tenkulan maine virtuoosimaisena kitaristina kasvaa entisestään. 6.3.2024 Tenkula olisi täyttänyt 50 vuotta.

With cooperation of the municipality of Muhos, author Nefertiti Malaty, former drummer of Sentenced Vesa Ranta, and the family of Miika Tenkula we have arranged a two-day celebration honoring the memory of Miika, who would have turned 50 this year.
The biography Melankolian mestari – Miika Tenkula written by Nefertiti Malaty tells the touching lifestory of the Sentenced guitarist. Sentenced rose to world fame in the beginning of he millenium, but broke up in the peak of its fame in 2005. The solo guitarist and composer Miika Tenkula was left with a void in his life, which was hard to fill. The last few years of his life were darkened by substance abuse problem and a hereditary heart disease. He died of a heart attack four years later. The biography of Miika Tenkula showcases how a shy country boy became a succesful guitar artist. After decades Sentenced is still enjoying a passionate valuation of its fans, and the reputation of Tenkula as a virtuoso guitarist just keeps on growing.
How to get here?
VR operates four times a day between Oulu and Muhos, and vice versa. On Saturdays, the route between Muhos and Oulu is served three times a day, and on Sundays, the route from Oulu to Muhos is also served three times a day. vr.fi/en
